Jonathan's Visit To Plateau: Police On Red Alert

JOS, Oct 07, (THEWILL) - Plateau State Police Command has placed its anti-bomb squad on red alert ahead of the expected visit of President Goodluck Jonathan to Plateau on Friday. President Jonathan is expected to visit Plateau State to commission some projects embarked on by the Governor Jonah David Jang administration in the state.


The state Police Commissioner, Mr. Ikechukwu Aduba who stated this while briefing newsmen on the level of preparedness for the president's visit said: "this is to ensure the visit goes on smoothly. We are prepared security wise and I wish to assure all citizens of the state and Mr. President that all hands are on deck in collaboration with sister security agencies like the Army, Civil Defence, Air Force, and FRSC to ensure a hitch free visit to the state."


The commissioner added that experts from the bomb disposal unit of the police are on hand and on red alert while traffic has been fully taken care of to avert any unforeseen circumstances.


"By the grace of God, the visit is going to be hitch-free," he assured. He warned miscreants to stay away from the visit saying the "police will deal with anyone caught trying to sabotage the visit."
