An Open Letter To President Bola Tinubu On The State Of National Security
I am writing to express my deep sorrow and sadness about the escalating security crisis in Nigeria. The recent abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi and Niger States is a devastating blow to our national conscience, reopening wounds of the Chibok girls' kidnapping in 2014.
The pain of these families reminds us of our collective failure to protect our vulnerable citizens.
No Nigerian should live in fear, but the present reality is that terrorism and banditry are widespread. It is clear that internal factors are contributing to this lawlessness, as every state in Nigeria is struggling with banditry, kidnapping, land-grabbing, and extortion.
At this point, security is the top priority for Nigerians, even more than food. A hungry person is not safe, but someone who's not safe can't even eat in peace - it's a basic truth that affects everyone, regardless of tribe, ethnicity, or religion.
I urge you, Your Excellency, and the Security Executive Council, to take immediate action to address the security crisis. The safe release of all abducted citizens and restoration of peace are paramount. Every Nigerian life matters.
Respectfully Yours,
Prince OSIBOTE
