The people of Kono community in Khana local government area of Rivers State have said they will continue to appreciate Governor Chibuike Amaechi for his commitment to the growth of the community.

They have therefore resolved to vote massively for him if he decides to run for a second term in office.

The Paramount Ruler, Chief Monday Nwige and the Mene-Bua-Bom, Chief Charles Nwikina-Emah III, stated the community's position shortly after conducting newsmen round the ongoing Model Primary School project in the area.

According to Mene Nwige, the people of the community are happy with the efforts of the governor to bring development to all parts of the state.

'Members of this community are solidly behind Governor Amaechi. You cannot single out one Kono indigene that is against Amaechi's administration. We are happy that some of our sons are aides of the governor,' he said.

The Paramount Ruler disclosed that those who claim to be indigenes of the community and still attack the governor are persons whose identities are questionable, saying, 'no true son of Kono will attack Amaechi.'

Also speaking, Chief Nw§ikina-Emah said since the advent of democracy in 1999, the Amaechi-led administration is the only government that has initiated a project of such magnitude in the community.

He stated that the people have decided to support the government to attract more development just as he expressed satisfaction with the leadership style of the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Magnus Abe, and the Chairman of Khana local government council, Mr Gregory Nwidam.
