The Voice Achievers Award, a Netherlands-based Pan-African organization, is set to celebrate Chioma Ajunwa's historic Olympics victory, where she became the first Nigerian and West African woman to win an Olympic gold medal in track and field. This momentous occasion paved the way for future generations of Nigerian athletes, inspiring countless young athletes to pursue their dreams.

Mr. Elvis Iruh, CEO of The Voice News Magazine, a Netherlands-based publication and the organizers of The Voice Africa Achievers Award, believes Chioma Ajunwa's remarkable story showcases resilience and determination, making her a deserving candidate for global recognition. Beyond athletics, Ajunwa served as an Assistant Commissioner of Police in the Nigerian Police Force, demonstrating her commitment to public service and law enforcement. Through her professional calling as a Police Officer, she served with honour, respect and dignity befitting her professional calling where many had been found wanting. She retired from the police force with distinction.

Through the Chioma Ajunwa Foundation, she supports youth mentorship and sports development, aiming to discover and nurture young talents. Her foundation also focuses on eradicating doping in sports.

Ajunwa has received numerous awards, including the prestigious Member of the Order of Niger (MON) and a traditional chieftaincy title from her home town in Imo State, acknowledging her contributions to Nigerian sports and society.

The Voice Achievers Award is coming to Nigeria for the first time, hosting a grand event at Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos. Typically held in Central Europe, the award has previously been held in Nairobi twice and in Dubai and Banjul once. This inaugural event in Nigeria promises to be an unforgettable celebration. The award ceremony, scheduled for November 28, 2025, will recognize outstanding individuals, businesses, and organizations driving positive change across Africa. Notable attendees include AY (Ace comedian), Patrick Olusegun Odegbami (Segun Odegbami), Otega Ogra (Senior special assistant to President Tinubu on digital engagement, strategy, and new media), Kate Henshaw (renowned movie superstar), Chief Fabian Nworah (EFAB Properties Abuja), and Michel Deelen, (Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Lagos, among other notable Africans, friends of Africa, and members of the African diaspora.
