NNPCL GCEO, Bayo Ojulari Attends Official Function Amid Resignation Rumours

The growing speculation about the resignation of the group chief executive officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Bayo Ojulari, has hit a brick wall.

This is just as he participated virtually in an industry event hosted by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Nigerian Council on Monday.

It was reported that Ojulari resumed work at NNPCL headquarters at about 9:35 am on Monday.

A top security insider confirmed to newsmen that the NNPC boss engaged in his usual official duties.

Similarly, Ojulari’s appearance at the event was part of an official assignment and comes amid growing speculation that he has resigned from his position at the national oil company.

Ojulari is said to be under investigation in connection with the alleged transfer of millions of dollars to the account of AA&R Investment Group,” a company operating in energy, agribusiness, logistics, and ICT.

Abdullahi Bashir-Haske, the founder and group managing director of AA&R Investment, is married to the daughter of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Atiku, who is running for president under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), is expected to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.

Sources revealed that President Tinubu, who appointed Ojulari just four months ago to replace Mele Kyari is reportedly ‘livid’ over the security findings tied to Ojulari’s activities since taking office.
