Seraph PR, Othello Institute To Host Digital Literacy Training In Iba Lagos Community
Seraph Public Relations and Media, in collaboration with the Othello Institute of Technology, is set to host a three-day digital literacy training programme aimed at bridging the digital skills gap in underserved communities especially among young people and elderly entrepreneurs.
The initiative, tagged TechUpNaija: Iba Edition, is scheduled to take place on June 16th, 18th, and 20th, 2025, at the Iba ICT Centre in Iba area of Lagos State.
The ICT centre was made available through the support of the King of Iba Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Sulaimon Adeshina Raji (Ashade I).
Designed as a community-centered initiative, the training seeks to equip participants with foundational computer knowledge and social media marketing skills that are vital for modern-day business operations and personal advancement. The programme is expected to accommodate over 100 participants from the Iba community and its environs.
Speaking on the much-anticipated event, Judah Kolawole, Director of Seraph Public Relations and Media, emphasised the importance of inclusive digital access as a tool for economic empowerment.
“TechUpNaija was born out of a need to democratise digital access, especially for those in informal sectors or communities where basic computer literacy is still a challenge. By teaching both youths and older adults how to navigate technology effectively, we are opening up new possibilities for entrepreneurship, employability, and personal growth,” Kolawole said.
He added that in addition to the training sessions, the programme aims to reward outstanding participants with tech-related gifts and modest cash prizes as a form of encouragement and empowerment to put their new skills to use.
The organisers highlighted that this edition of TechUpNaija is the first in a series of community-driven digital empowerment projects to be rolled out across Lagos and other parts of Nigeria in the near future.
Seraph PR and its partners have expressed their willingness to collaborate with like-minded organisations, CSR-driven brands, and public-spirited entities to further scale the impact of this initiative.
“We are open to strategic partnerships with organisations who are passionate about community development and digital transformation. TechUpNaija provides a unique platform for brands to connect directly with grassroots communities while making a tangible social impact,” Kolawole stated.
