SNYC Honours The Life of Edwin Kiagbodo Clark

On February 26, 2025, the Southern Nigeria Youth Congress, led by her President General, Comrade Emordi Ugochukwu Caleb visited and commiserated with the Clark family of Ijawland over the demise of their Patriarch, PANDEF Leader and foremost Niger Delta voice, Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark who passed at 97.

Pa Edwin Clark’s incredibly lived life is aptly summarized by Pastor Isaiah Ogedegbe who described him as “a highly respected leader of the Ijaw nation and a man of noble character, exceptional wisdom and uprightness. He always fought for the good of his people, and was a conscientious defender of their rights”.

It is without question that a big tree has just fallen. It is a big loss to Kiagbodo, Burutu LGA, Delta and Edo states, and indeed the nation, Nigeria.

While we mourn his passing, we reflect on his enduring legacy and lifetime commitment to the peace, stability and progress of the Niger Delta region and indeed, Nigeria.

We will remember him for his fearlessness and peacemaking strides.

May his soul rest in peace.
