Emir of Wase Dies at 64

JOS, Sept 17, (THEWILL) - The Emir of Wase, Alhaji Abdullahi Haruna Maikano has died this morning after a brief illness, at the Jos University Teaching Hospital JUTH.


He was aged 64.

THEWILL gathered that his body was conveyed from Jos to Wase for burial this morning. He was however buried at about 3:15pm after prayers by the Chief Imam of the Wase Central Mosque.


Those at the burial include the Plateau State governor, Jonah David Jang who was represented by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Gregory Yenlong.


Others include the Gbong Gwom Jos; Da Jacob Gyang Buba; Emir of Bauchi; Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu; and Emir of Lafia Alhaji Mustapha Agwai.


The late Emir was born in 1946 and was Vice President Nigeria Supreme council for Islamic Affairs, Vice Chairman of the Jamatu Naisir Islam, JNI, and Co-Chairman of the Inter Religious Council for Peace and Harmony.
