ChiMercy 2024 : Ebonyi Astir For 72-Hour Love Carnival.
A highbrow wedding looms in Ebonyi State. The feeling is thick in the air, palpable and the people of Ebonyi State are astir. The scriptures say that, "He who finds a wife has found a good thing and obtains favour from God". This submission underscores the importance of a good wife, hence the search for a wife is always daunting for any young man bent on settling down. For Bartholomew Chibueze Nwifuru, a prince of the Nwifuru Nwamkpu dynasty of Agbaja Izzi, a diplomat, businessman and younger brother of the incumbent governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Builder Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, the search for a wife was not easy. This ultimate search which, when successful, confers on males the status of full-fledged manhood, took the unassuming prince of Agbaja across seven rivers and seven forests to Ndioffia Iboko in Izzi where God showed him Mercy in the family of Mr Cajethan Nwigube.
That was the story of ChiMercy 2024, an unfolding life-long love project, between Prince Bartholomew Chibueze Nwifuru and Mercy Ezinne Nwigube, which would culminate in a love festival featuring traditional wedding, solemnization of holy matrimony and love carnival that promises to showcase the pristine glamour and glitz of Ebonyi, nay Eastern Nigeria.
The groom, Prince Nwifuru, a graduate of History and International Relations and businessman, is by virtue of his training and vocation, a diplomat. On the other hand, the bride, Mercy Nwigube, is an economist. Even though the marriage institution is greatly challenged in our modern society, it is generally believed that with backgrounds in diplomacy and economics which are all social sciences, the groom and bride must succeed in any social setting especially in the institution of marriage which is the foundation of the human society. Encounters with the couple point to the fact that they are poised to succeed in their union. For instance, one often finds Chibueze and Mercy hand-in-hand, discussing the progress of their wedding arrangements with their eyes. The art of eye discussions which is a unique vista of nonverbal communication is known to be an exclusive preserve of compatible couples who love and understand each other. Like we know, love and understanding are basic raw materials for successful marital life. Hence, the conviction of all that ChiMercy 2024 is already a reference point for successful marriages.
ChiMercy 2024 is the rave of the moment in social circles in Ebonyi State and beyond. From the youth constituency of Ebonyi State, through business circles to political circles, the slogan is ChiMercy 2024; while the code is 24th - 26th October, 2024. This fairy-tale wedding spread across 72 hours will begin with a traditional wedding at the Ndioffia Iboko compound of Mr. Cajethan Nwigube on 24th October, 2024; and culminate in the solemnization of the sacrament of holy matrimony between the love birds at the New Government House Chapel, Abakaliki on 26th October, 2024. Thereafter, guests shall be treated to top class wedding soiree in the main bowl of the Ecumenical Centre, Abakaliki. This top rank wedding will be attended by the first family of Ebonyi State, their excellencies, Builder Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and Mrs. Maudlyn Uzoamaka Nwifuru. The parents of the governor of Ebonyi State, Chief and Mrs. Nwifuru Nwamkpu (Ikeoha 1), Ebonyi elders and stakeholders as well as members of Ebonyi State Executive Council are all billed to be at the ChiMercy 2024 love show.
