Anambra Stakeholders Endorse Soludo For 2nd Term, Kicks Off Grassroots Campaign

Stakeholders from 19 electoral wards in Anaocha Local Government Area (LGA), Anambra State, Saturday, endorsed governor Chukwuma Soludo for second term come 2025 poll.

The stakeholders, who included notable political figures at the national and state governments level, past and present APGA officials, and top government functionaries and some captain of industry, youth and women of worth within the Council Area, vowed to embark on grassroots campaign for the governor in the whole of Anambra Central Senatorial district .

According to them, Soludo remains the best man to take Anambra State to the promised land because it has not broken for anyone to mend it, even as his continuity would help to deepen democracy, bring sustainable development, peace and tranquility across the 181 communities and beyond.

They disclosed this at maiden edition of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) summit 2024 held at Golden Tulip Hotel Agulu under the theme governance and the people duty of the political party at the grassroots, recalled that the governor has within two years in office impacted positively in all sectors of the State economy.

The APGA LG Chairman in Anaocha, Chief Sir Anthony Ugorji (Ọzọ Ebubechukwu na Nri), who convened the meeting to chat ways forward for APGA, recalled how the current administration has empowered many youth through one youth 2 skills programme, revolutionised agriculture by empowering farmers with improved seedlings like palm and coconut plantations, employed thousands of teachers and health practitioners, free maternal delivery, sports development, among others.

"We will continue to engage with all the key stakeholders, youth and women from all the 19 wards in Anaocha LGA to renew their commitments to this project. I will continue to promote solution messages across the wards. APGA is Anaocha. Anaocha is APGA. We will not allow APGA to die. Soludo has delivered and continues to deliver on his campaign promises. Anaocha people will vote massively for him," he stated.

Ugorji, who also empowered 19 women from 19 electoral wards with funds to boost their businesses, thanked the stakeholders for their support, assuring that he would never disappoint Anaocha people throughout his tenure as party chairman.

Also speaking, High Chief Ben Obi (Igwe APGA), who was among those bestowed with pillars of APGA award, reassured his support for the party to remain victorious at all elections even as he enjoined other stakeholders to key into the project as APGA spirit of onyeagha na nwanne ya (be your brothers/sisters keepers) would always propel them to succeed.

On his part, the former member representing Anaocha/Dunukofia/Njikoka federal constituency and Senatorial candidate of APGA in 2023 poll, Rt. Hon. Dozie Nwankwo, described APGA as a force to reckon with, noting that the victory of Soludo in 2025 has been assured if they continue to work as one family.

Nwankwo, who was also an award recipient, charged the stakeholders to embark on grassroots campaign from house to house and get ready to vote and defend their votes as always.

The immediate past Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Anambra State, Dr Mrs Uju Nwogu, who delivered lecture on the theme for the conference, urged the stakeholders to take the gospel of good governance being delivered by Soludo's administration to all members of their households, friends and others.

"Political parties are also meant to go and hunt for members and also educate the people on what the government is doing. It is important especially now the government in power, APGA is doing well under Soludo. This is why it is imperative that political parties diligently select and elect members with proven integrity and good character as candidate because it encourages good governance, respect to rule of law, restores confidence, peace and tranquility," she stated.

Stakeholders present at the meeting included the Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike, the Chairman, Anambra State Sports Development Commission, Patrick Estate Onyedum, the Managing Director, Anambra State Water Resources Management Agency, Hon. Ikem Ejiofor, Brenda Anaekwe, Gerald Ikechukwu Ọzọ, former LGA chairman of Anaocha, Prince Chinedu Ofojebe, Solution Youth, Ifeanyi Okafor, and Paschal Okeke Oraeki, former PG Nri, among others..

APGA also welcomed back Ositadinma Ozilagba and two other political heavyweight who dumped their former political parties for APGA. APGA also welcomed back the Labour Party (LP) chieftain, Chief Ositadinma Ozolagba, the ADC chieftain, Sir Onyebuchi Okpala and other political heavyweights who dumped their former political parties for APGA.
