Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, the ousted Emir of Kano, has resumed duties in a palace in the ancient town.

It was learnt that he returned to the town in the early hours of Saturday.

The monarch immediately thronged by his supporters, who were chanting a verse from Surah Al-Fatihah in the Holy Quoran.

“You (alone) we worship, and you (alone) we ask for help (for each and everything).”

While some others were saying, “God the Almighty will kill your enemies.”

The former Emir was fully dressed in royal regalia.

Reports indicated that he has moved into the palace in Nassarawa, fueling confusion.

However, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II has taken over the Gidan Rumfa palace in Kano.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who sacked Ado Bayero alongside other Emirs appointed by his predecessor, Abdullahi Ganduje, had given them 48 hours to vacate their palaces and hand over to the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affair.

He had subsequently announced the reinstatement of Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi, whom Ganduje deposed in 2020.
