Nigerian Soldiers Kill Terrorists In Borno, Nasarawa

Troops of the Nigerian Army, in collaboration with hybrid forces, have neutralised terrorists in an operation conducted in Kana Village, Biu Local Government Area of Borno and Nasarawa states.

During the operations, two AK-47 rifles, one motorbike, six bicycles, and other sundry items, were recovered from the terrorists.

According to a statement posted on Facebook by the Nigerian Army on Saturday, the troops and hybrid forces engaged the terrorists in a gun duel and overpowered them.

The statement read, "In a proactive effort to maintain peace and security, troops of the Nigerian Army successfully conducted clearance cum cordon and search operations in Borno and Nasarawa states, resulting in the obliteration of terrorists and recovery of firearms.

"During the operation, troops had an encounter with the terrorists around Nguma Village and neutralised two terrorists in the firefight.

'In a different operation on the same day, acting on credible intelligence, Nigerian Army troops deployed in Nasarawa State conducted a cordon and search operation at a suspected criminals' hideouts around Abuni Village in Awe Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

"The operation led to the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, two AK-47 magazines, and 35 rounds of 7.62 mm (special). The recovered weapons were found in the residence of one Mr Abdullahi Musa, leading to the arrest of other suspects."

The statement described the successful operations as signs of troops' commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the populace.

"We urge members of the public to continue to support the Nigerian Army, other services, and security agencies by providing timely and credible information to aid ongoing operations," it added.
