LSWRC To Attend The London Water Summit
The Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission Executive Secretary, Funke Adepoju, has accepted the invitation to participate in the Global Water Summit in London.
According to a statement on Sunday, the agency said, “The Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission is proud to announce that its esteemed Executive Secretary, Mrs Funke Adepoju, has been honoured with an invitation as a VIP attendee to the upcoming Global Water Summit, London. This exclusive, invite-only event will convene 300 of the world’s most influential water leaders to discuss critical issues facing the global water sector today.
“At this year’s summit, set to take place in Sofitel, Heathrow, London, from April 15 to 17, 2024, Mrs Adepoju will be leading conversations in a high-level panel titled ‘Determining Tariffs for Transformation’.
“The panel will explore innovative approaches to setting water tariffs that both ensure the sustainability of water services and support the transformation of water infrastructures to meet future challenges.”
LSWRC noted that Adepoju’s invitation to the event is a testament to her leadership and the progress made under her guidance in the management and regulation of Lagos State’s water resources.
It said, "Her efforts have been instrumental in the new face of implantation of the sector policy that balances the needs for economic efficiency, social equity, and environmental sustainability.
“The Global Water Summit offers a unique platform for water leaders to share insights, innovations, and strategies to address the world’s most pressing water challenges.
“Adepoju’s contribution is eagerly anticipated as she brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective from Lagos State, Nigeria, to the global stage.”
