ONI COMMISERATES WITH NWODO OVER FIRE INCIDENT Ekiti State Governor, Engr. Segun Oni has commiserated with the National Chairman of the ruling Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP), Dr.

Okwesilieze Nwodo and members of over the fire incident, which razed the Conference Hall of the party's national secretariat on Saturday.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Wale Ojo-Lanre, Governor Oni, who described the news of the fire incident as painful, said he was shocked when he received the news.

He urged the Central Working Committee (CWC) and the entire members of the party not to be deterred by the incident, saying; “This should not be allowed to deter you and members of your team to from carrying out the onerous task of strengthening our party for a total electoral victory in 2011.”

Governor Oni, who hailed the men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for their gallant effort, which curtailed the fire, added that himself and other teeming members of the PDP will remain grateful to the Civil Defence Corps for averting what would have been a national disaster.

While assuring the national leadership of the PDP the support of the Ekiti State chapter of the party in putting the burnt conference hall back to shape, the governor said; “Wadata House is our heritage. It is the symbol of our great party, the PDP. Therefore, whatever affects it is the responsibility of all of us and we in Ekiti State are not going to shy away from this important responsibility.”
