HONOURABLE OLADIMEJI FABIYI THE TURAKI VANGUARD NATIONAL COORDINATOR RECEIVES THE NORTH EAST EXCO AND REITERATES THE TURAKI VANGUARD POSITION OF ENSURING CREDIBLE LEADERSHIP COME 2011 AND THE FUTILITY OF PRESIDENT JONATHAN CONTESTING THE 2011 POLLS

Chief Hon. Oladimeji Fabiyi, the National Coordinator of Turaki Vanguard on 28th August, 2010 at the National Secretariat of the movement in Abuja received a delegation of the North East Exco in what was described as a congratulatory and solidarity visit. On hand to support the National Coordinator at the event were other members of the NWC that included: Mr. Raymond Wodi, National Deputy Coordinator South; Mrs. Onyinye Modze, Deputy National Secretary; Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, National Publicity Secretary; Barr Henry Iyanya, National Legal Adviser; Alh. Saidu Adamu, National Treasurer and Chief Ufoma Briggs, National Auditor.

The delegation of the North East Zonal Exco of Turaki Vanguard was led by Alh Zanna Galambi who is also the Bauchi State Coordinator with him were Alh. Aminu Bello, Adamawa State Coordinator; Alh. Hassan Gimba, Yobe State Coordinator; Mustapha Goni Umar, Taraba State Coordinator and Hon. Gambo K. Duku, Gombe State. In his speech at the event, Alh Galambi stated that the visit was for the purpose of congratulating Hon. Oladimeji Fabiyi on his appointment to the position of National Coordinator of the movement. In addition, he said the North East Exco were on hand to assure Fabiyi of their unflinching support and loyalty in its collective purpose of working together to ensure that Nigerians have the added advantage of an Atiku Abubakar led administration come 2011.

Chief Hon. Oladimeji Fabiyi in his response, thanked the North East Zonal Exco for being the first among other Zones to pay him such a solidarity visit, which he jocularly said is evident of their preparedness for the arduous task ahead of electing one of their own as the next President of Nigeria. He assured them that the issue of waiver for Atiku would soon be resolved and should not pose a distraction to the group. He reiterated the need for an active mobilization of all members to drum up ways to effectively mobilize the PDP Delegates in the various States ahead of its convention to secure atiku's candidacy.

He stated that the Vanguard has been fully revived for the primary purpose of disseminating what our great leader and Principal Alh. Atiku Abubakar GCON stands for and represent in terms of ideals, vision, philosophy, commitment to rule of law and entrenchment of democracy as well as to join other well meaning groups to chart a proper course for the Nation's polity as well as assist the leadership of PDP to be a proper democratic Institution as envisaged by the founding fathers of the party.

We are now very comfortable that President Jonathan being a gentleman will not endanger the peace and unity of our country by respecting not only the zoning principle of zoning as enshrined in the constitution of our great party but will ignore the calls of those that don't wish him well by not contesting the party primaries knowing the damage such a step will bring on his name, the peace and unity of our dear country. The facts remains that it will be foolhardy and suicidal if he goes ahead to participate as we know the futility of such an exercise and we will do our best not only to dissuade Mr. President from such a calamitous step in order to safe and preserve his integrity as a respected leader of our country but will mobilize all Nigerians to save the nation from unprepared and unwilling President being lured into power by some selfish leaders who does not know the damage such an act will bring on our dear country. We will use the same strategy that we used to thwart the unholy ambition of General Olusegun Obasanjo in his life presidency plot to save Nigerians once again from a plot that will endanger our corporate existence as a nation if he decides to run.

Let me for avoidance of doubt state that Turaki Vanguard is revived this time around just to save the integrity of Mr. President and save the nation from a step that may endanger her unity and progress should Mr. President decides to answer the calls of non existing pressure Groups and some selfish Nigerians Leaders pilling pressure on him to contest in order to extract funds from the system for their belly. We are also back in order to assist the leadership of PDP to be a proper democratic Institution as envisaged by the founding fathers of the party and to guarantee an eight year tenure for the South instead of the four year tenure Jonathan's leadership will bring to the South if he succeeds to thwart the constitution of the party that brought him to power.

The National Coordinator concluded his remarks by presenting the line of action that the leadership of the Movement intends to use in actualizing its dream. He stated that the NWC would soon embark on Zonal and State tours with special courtesy calls on some leaders in these zones to galvanize support for Atiku Abubakar. He urged all Nigerians to join forces with the Vanguard to achieve this purpose for the assured greatness of the Nation.
