Rotimi Onadipe is a prominent advocate of online safety, dedicated to providing safety tips to users about cyber crimes and internet abuse prevention. In addition, he regularly counsels and rehabilitates fraudsters, fraud victims and anyone that wants to be free from smartphone addiction.

As part of his commitment to creating a safer online environment for everyone, Onadipe also educates users globally through his weekly awareness broadcast which he makes available online for users to educate themselves about online safety.

In his broadcast on March 9th, 2024, the online safety advocate warned users against engaging in prayer sessions in order to detect scams. He added that prayer should not be used as a means of detecting any fraudulent document received from scammers.

According to him, anyone engaging in prayer sessions or taking documents received from scammers to clerics in order to confirm the authenticity of the documents is wasting his/her time.

"Online scammers are very desperate, smart and they are getting smarter every day. They have more than enough documents they can use to confuse and convince anyone. This is the more reason why you need to educate yourself about online safety.

"Don't conclude that a transaction is genuine if you have not investigated it. Relying on prayer sessions or messages from clerics on issues related to online scams can mislead you and get you into more trouble.

"If you are involved in any transaction and you are suspecting it to be a scam, the best way to confirm is through proper investigation by experts and not by engaging in prayer sessions.

"Report your issue to the appropriate authority immediately and necessary action will be taken to prevent you from falling victim," Onadipe stated.
