Another Aspirant, Ighodalo Emerges PDP Governorship Candidate For Edo polls

A Lagos-based lawyer, Asue Ighodalo, has won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primaries in Edo state.

Ighodalo defeated nine other contenders in the election held on Thursday, February 22.

He received 577 votes to become the party’s nominee for the September 2024 polls. The exercise took place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in the capital of Edo State.

The Chairman of the Edo PDP Primary Electoral Committee and Governor of Zamfara state, Dauda Lawal declared the financial and legal expert as the winner of the exercise.

The Nigerian Voice reports that Phillip Shaibu, the deputy governor of Edo State, has earlier emerged as the winner in a factional primary of the PDP for the 2024 Edo governorship election.

Shaibu won the parallel primaries with over three hundred and one votes.
