Burna Boy Bags 4 Nominations, Davido Gets 3 For 2024 Grammy Awards

Nigerian music heavyweights including Burna Boy and Davido have been nominated for the 2024 Grammy Awards.

The nominees for the 66th award ceremony were announced on Friday evening.

The award ceremony recognises recordings released from October 1, 2022, to September 15, 2023.

Davido, who is debuting his first-ever nomination for the prestigious award, earned three categories, including ‘Best Global Album’ for his latest album, ‘Timeless’.

Others are ‘Best African Performance’ for his song ‘Unavailable’ and ‘Best Global Music Performance’ for his track ‘Feel’.

Reacting, Davido took to his X handle and wrote, “3 nominations at the Grammys!! Delay is not Denial!! 🏆🌎”.

Burna Boy, who is not new to winning the prestigious award, was nominated in four categories, including ‘Sitting On Top of the World’ (Best Melodic Rap), ‘I Told Them’ (Best Global Music Album), ‘Alone’ (Best Global Music Performance) and ‘City Boys’ (Best African Music Performance).

Other Nigerian singers who grabbed at least one nomination include Tems, Asake, Arya Starr and Olamide.

SZA is the top nominee for the 66th annual Grammy Awards with nine nods.

The award ceremony will take place on February 4, 2024, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles
