Breaking News: Unlawful Sack: AIG Mbu (Rtd.) Wins In Court Against Police Service Commission PSC

The National Industrial Court, sitting in Abuja today delivered judgement in Suit No NICN/ABJ/198/2017 Between AIG Mbu Joseph Mbu -VS- Police Service Commission, seeking a relief for unlawful dismissal from service.

Hon. Justice O. A. Obaseki-Osaghae in her ruling, declared that the sack of Mbu as illegal and awarded general damages of N40 million against the Police Service commission. In addition, the police service commission will pay him all his outstanding salaries and allowances between the time of the illegal dismissal of 8 July, 2016 to 10 April 2018 when he attained his statutory retirement by virtue of his age.

The judge while delivering the judgment ordered that the sum of N750,000 be paid to the claimant as cost of the suit, stating that failure of the defendant to comply with the orders of the court within 30 days will attract a 10 per cent interest per annum.
