58 NEWLY RECRUITED NURSES RESUME WORK AT EKITI TEACHING HOSPITAL

58 newly recruited nurses have resumed work at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH), Ado-Ekiti with the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Dr.

Patrick Adegun charging them to show commitment and dedication to duty.

Dr. Adegun, while addressing the new staff, advised them to always comport themselves very well, saying they are the representatives of the Teaching Hospital.

He reminded them that about 182 nurses and health assistance were redeployed to the Hospital's Management Board recently because of their attitude to work, which has given the public a negative impression about the Teaching Hospital.

The CMD, who emphasized that discipline is taken seriously by the management of the Teaching Hospital , added that promotion, demotion and outright retrenchment is measured through discipline and workers'

attitude to work.
He charged the new recruits to always be ready at all times to render services to patients irrespective of all odds because “without the patients there would be no nurse.”

Meanwhile, the Governing Council of the Teaching Hospital has reassured the various categories of workers of the teaching hospital that the management would not renege on his resolve to ensure the welfare of workers is given priority.

The council assured the Resident Doctors and other workers that the state government was willing to pay the workers the Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) and the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS).
