Governor Makinde, Deputy, 32 Lawmaker-elect Receive Certificates Of Return In Oyo

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and his Deputy, Bayo Lawal, have been presented their certificates of return for their victory in the just concluded gubernatorial election in the state

The certificates were presented to the duo by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday at the event which was held at University of Ibadan, Ibadan.

Also receiving the certificates of return are 32 members of the state House of Assembly who emerged winners in the state assembly election.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Dr Adeniran Tella, thanked the stakeholders for the success of the recently held elections, while noting that the use of technology for the 2023 polls added value to the electoral process.

He also called for the support of the political class to help the commission conduct a better exercise in coming elections.

INEC National Commissioner for Oyo, Lagos, and Ekiti states, Mr Sam Olumekun, noted that the preparation for the 2023 election commenced immediately after the 2019 polls which he claimed contributed to 2023 electoral success.
