Lola Akande Wins ANA Prize For Short Story

Lola Akande, a Nigerian academic and fiction writer has just been announced as the winner of 2022 ANA, Association Of Nigerian Authors short prize edition with her piece 'Suitors Are Scarce in Lagos'.

Lola Akande has published four novels, including the award-winning 'What It Takes', and her latest book, and the winning piece for ANA, 'Suitors Are Scarce In Lagos'.

Suitors Are Scarce in Lagos is a collection of ten short fiction which captures the myriad experiences of women, men, and young adults in Lagos. The collection probes into the demographics that make up Lagos, including its people, its glamour and colour, and its raw dogged determination to succeed no matter the odds.

The Association of Nigerian Authors was founded on the 27th June, 1981, during a conference convened by the late Professor Chinua Achebe.
