Pandev Retires From Football

North Macedonia’s all-time record goal scorer Goran Pandev has announced his retirement from the round leather game following a glittering career spanning over two decades.

On his Instagram page, Pandev wrote: “I look back and it still doesn’t seem real… It has been an incredible journey. A beautiful chapter ends… I carry with me an incredible baggage of emotions… I am happy to have shared them together.”

As a young prodigy, Pandev signed by Inter Milan when he was only 18 and spent almost all of his career days in Italy.

The North Macedonian legend played for Lazio, Napoli, Galatasaray and Genoa, among other teams, having his last stint with Parma last season in Serie B.

He was part of Inter’s Jose Mourinho historic team which won the treble in 2010 .

Pandev is North Macedonia’s most capped player and all-time leading scorer with 38 goals in 122 appearances and led the country to their first-ever European Championship.
