Forgive Tinubu’s Gasconade, Focus On Babachir’s Wise Recommendations And Nigeria’s Christian Majority

By Dr Chinonso Ndukwe

"Don’t mind PDP and other mushroom parties — parties like Labour; they will labour till they die.”

— Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC Gubernatorial Osun rally, July 12, 2022.

“We are under-policed and we are competing with armed robbers and bandits to recruit from the youths who are unemployed —33 per cent unemployed? Recruit 50 million youths into the army, what they will eat —cassava, corn, yam, will grow here.”

—Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, 12th Bola Tinubu Colloquium held in Kano, March 29, 2022.

“And they call one man Obi, in one party, saying he will create jobs. He has not been able to tell us how we can make brake parts for those vehicles, how we can make wheel spanners on our own for those vehicles. And he said maybe he can go and expand the port in Benin Republic so we can clear our cargoes faster. I call that ‘container economy, Obi China.’”

— Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC’s presidential rally in Lagos February 8, 2019.

For an-agbado-eating-frog-eyed-son-of-nobody who doesn’t appreciate labour to attack youths and political opponents with swear language and insulting lingo is not just worrisome, it is calamitous when you consider that that fellow wants to be the President of Nigeria.

The cuss, “mushroom parties”, by Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a dart that stemmed from the false majority claims of the Muslim population in the north of Nigeria which shall be addressed at the end of this conversation.

Many people living in the north I interviewed in the course of this article provided sufficient data to show that there are more Christians in Nigeria than any other religion and a greater number of that demographic will vote for Peter Obi in 2023 despite Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s hobbledehoy tongue.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s lexical exertion is a pointer to an underlining complex that a President of Nigeria should never have. His profanity expressed often in his choice of diction signifies his indolence, which is burdensome as well as disgraceful.

At Abeokuta on the 2nd of June 2022, he publicly claimed he made Dapo Abiodun the governor of Ogun State: “It has been over 25 years now that I have been serving them. This one sitting behind me, Dapo, can he say he can be the Governor without me? I was the one that handed the flag to him. He knows that he cannot be the governor without the help of God and my support.”

“This one sitting behind me.”
“God and my support”?
Alas! APC gave the presidential ticket to a man who equates himself with God, a man who pushed aside his promises to the entire Christian population in the APC and chose a Muslim as his running mate. Nigeria is facing an imminent implosion with this fellow who abuses others, and as well easily fails on his promises.

The syntactic versatility of his linguistic expressions, the superiority complex, and his curse lexis are boundless, conveniently imitating the pattern of biblical and traditional dictators who deploy obscenity in their semantics in the bid to objectify other lesser opponents and targets.

Just imagine the profane Marc Antony hovering over the bloodied corpse of Caesar, rather than expressing Shakespeare’s poetic and nostalgic quotation, “Woe to the hand that shed this costly blood” might otherwise say, “Screw the bastard who did this crap.”

If a profane Marc Antony had made that choice, that would clearly depict him as one of those illegitimate men being raped for defecation, or those who employ an MC Oluomo rather than a strategic consultant to manage parks and markets. For such profanity would have been less accurate, a less poignant depiction than the original, which inspires desire for revenge against the murderer whose callous hand spilled the blood of the mighty Caesar.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu referred to a sitting governor as “This one sitting behind me”, to the millions of youth in the Labour Party “They will labour till they die”, and to Peter Obi, “Obi China.” This kind of expression should not be heard from touts he always deployed during elections even. It signifies a mental state that is rather dangerous for him and for his party, if they attempt to rig him into Aso Rock. He will throw rocks everywhere, like a mad man, until everyone is wounded in his whims and caprices.

Sadly, inappropriate swearing can be observed in frontal lobe damage, drug abuse, Tourette's disorder, aphasia, terrorism, schizophrenia, and insanity.

Just like the Nigerian President that called his own people “lazy youths” during a visit abroad, and later forgot everything he promised the country including jobs, industrial revolution, power production, education, I doubt that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is disciplined, recollective enough to be president or leader in the 21st century. He doesn’t sound responsible at all. His use of language shows he doesn’t have any regard for youths, the opposition and will likely not keep any promises to them just as his predecessor. He would be too sectional to lead a country such as Nigeria.

The media has created a newspeak that panders perpetually to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s braggadocio without ever considering the gestaltism behind his personality disorder because he is the idol of the Southwest mainstream media.

Take a look at Lagos State, a state behind civilization; take a look at Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s gasconade you can see he is the personage of anachronism, as well as a disappointing character incapable of rationalization, good speech and critical thinking.

Even former presidents such as Olusegun Obasanjo or Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida wouldn’t be allowed Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s privilege. Has he come for any interview since 2022 on Television? Is he shying away from more profanities? I take umbrage at the way the media has failed in addressing Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s gasconade.

If he does a situational assessment of his age, mental health, antecedents as a leader, he would adhere to his friend David Babachir’s admonition that he should rescind his Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket or better still resign from partisan politics before he destroys himself and this nascent democracy former president Olusegun Obasanjo and his colleagues labored to build.

Bola’s profanities stench of hubris, so much for a man who buys crowds at political rallies, buys votes for his stooges, engages the services of Agbero with their marabouts, and as well paid his way to APC presidential candidature, and now is flagging a Muslim-Muslim ticket against the wishes of the entire democratic multireligious populace, and many of his party chieftains who were behind him during the primaries.

On the Muslim/Muslim ticket Babachir Lawal said, “I would love for Bola to be our next President. But I am afraid a Moslem-Moslem ticket will be ‘Dead on Arrival.’ And the arrival date according to INEC’s election timetable is 25th February 2023. This ticket will drag down the whole APC members to the pit. We all should reject it.”

On the Muslim/Muslim ticket Bishop Hassan Kukah said, “It is annoying to me that some people are whinning as if APC is the only party in Nigeria. In fact, if I were the only Nigerian, the party should not even be on the ballot in 2023 because of the pain it has inflicted on Nigerians.”

That it took the choice of a Muslim/Muslim ticket by Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the largely silent northern Christian population to arise is an interesting development. When Chibok girls were kidnapped the uproar they raised wasn’t this instigating. Are they seeing what other Nigerians are not seeing?

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a person who's not just egotistical or arrogant, but also has the ownership, terrorist mentality of the current cabal in power as well as those who kidnapped Chibok girls so as to blackmail and remove former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan from office. They prefer shortcuts than well-planned actions that are directed at the common good of the society.

His arrogance in sidelining the entire northern and southern Christian population in his choice of deputy is as devastating as his profanities.

A court of competent jurisdiction should try this matter. Has he no comprehension of what federal character means? This is a federal case. Even President Mohammadu Buhari could not attempt this unconstitutionality despite his popularity up north.

Who has emboldened and bewitched Bola Ahmed Tinubu? Aren’t his profane expressions and actions indicative of a looming problem that would practically implode Nigeria forever?

The recent prison break in Kuje, FCT Abuja by ISWAP which was never decisively challenged or prevented by the security forces is an example of the mentality that has been exhibited by the likes of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in recent times. An attitude that respects everyone else except the emotions of the Christian community. Would the government become this lax if a Christian group broke a prison in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory?

That the government is yet to explain to the people why the military forces that are attached to the Kuje Medium Security Prison were ordered to be off at the time of the attack is worrisome. What the Christian population thinks about this development doesn’t count. This is a Christian population that has experienced the greater brunt of terrorism.

That Bola Ahmed Tinubu has not explained to the entire Christian population of Nigeria why he thinks they can’t be represented in his ticket is unimaginable. It appears he doesn’t mind and doesn’t think there will be repercussions.

Nigeria has 20 Christian governors and 16 Muslim governors. The FCT mayor is a Muslim. The heads of the government and security council are majorly Muslim in a multireligious society? No one has been queried or sacked for the Kuje prison break. Is this a democracy?

This is the kind of braggadocio that instigated Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Muslim-Muslim ticket in the first place. He has been lied to that there are more Muslims than Christians in Nigeria and that no matter what he can do without Christianity. This is awkward. This is unacceptable.

It is better for Bola Ahmed Tinubu to accept the advisement by Mr David Babachir Lawal seriously and rescind on the ticket the APC is currently flying because it will spell doom wether they win or not. It is not because the APC is the only party, but because it is the ruling party. It is a party that wouldn’t have defeated the Goodluck Jonathan’s led People’s Democratic Party in 2015 if not for the overwhelming support of the northern Christian population, and the Southern Christian population who were tired of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s massive corruption and failure.

The reason we have APC’s current Muslim-Muslim ticket, constant Boko-Haram’s kidnapping, radical banditry, ISWAP’s prison attacks that are not fully challenged by the government is because the Christian population in Nigeria are not well represented in the government, they are yet to awake to the fact that they hold the majority, and no matter their tribe and region, they are a group that truly needs to come together and speak with one voice over Nigeria’s federalism in 2023.

Prior to the new democratic dispensation of 1999 in Nigeria, states such as Nasarawa, Benue, Gombe, Plateau, Abuja, Kogi, Adamawa, Borno, Taraba, Niger, and Kaduna were heavily populated by a good number of indigenous Christians, and are still majorly populated by Christians despite the terror attacks targeting Christians and the lies about Muslim majority in the north of Nigeria.

In 2015 these states voted for the APC. And APC won because of the additional vote and financial support of Rivers State government, Imo State, and other Southwest states. When these states with largely Christian votes withdraw from the APC, how can the Muslim votes shared by Rabiu Kwankwaso, Atiku Abubakar and Bola Ahmed Tinubu, give APC the victory it needs in 2023 when the Christian population are going back to their tents?

The greatest lie ever told about Nigeria by some publications and media organizations is that Christianity isn’t the dominant religion and the most populated faith in Nigeria.

Christianity remains the dominant religion in Nigeria and that population will speak loud and clear in 2023, and many Muslims who understand equity, fairness and justice will follow their Christian brothers to salvage Nigeria from Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s satanic dream.

Today, Christian subjugation in Nigeria made conspicuous in the APC government, and its choice of candidature for 2023 presidential election, can not be described accurately because of the alarming levels of political relegation and degradation.

Today, Bola Ahmed Tinubu represents crass disdain and disregard for people of other faith in a country dominantly Christian, a fact denied by local media and the government.

The rise of impostors such as Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Nigeria’s political history shows how the indigenous Christian population in Lagos and in Nigeria have been cardinally misquantified giving other minority and aggressive groups a kind of false knowledge.

The false claim on competency bandied by Asiwaju has been fanned further by that erroneous census data which his new found friends had presented to him.

How could the APC delegates elect a man who is currently clothed, fed, washed by his wife, over three Nigerian Christians healthy, more educated, stronger and more vibrant?

How could APC leaders and their lapdogs after looking at the four governors from the north of Nigeria; leaders like David Babachir, Mustapha Boss, Yakubu Dogara; and thousands of Christian professors; politicians and democrats; against all reasonable doubt, still picked Mr Kashim Shettima who has been accused of sponsoring terrorism in the Northeast of Nigeria?

“I was born in Lagos, I am a grandchild of Awolowo; I have lived in Lagos for 30 years, I own properties in Lagos; from Badagry to the borders, from Epe, Agege, Apapa, to the major parts of Lagos, Christians are a majority. I give it 60% Christians. Many of them are tired of Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s pattern of rulership,” one of my Interviewees said.

“If you visit Kano you will be shocked that within 2 kilometers there are 2 local governments without up to 5000 people. That’s why you see underaged voters there. I was born in Maiduguri. We have 70% population of Christians in Borno State. I lived in Kano. If you come to Borno now with a lot of violence we have been dominated in government but not in population. I work in the civil service and I can tell you that this 2023 our people will vote Peter Obi. Can you imagine that Zulum that is hailed by some ignorant people is an extremist too? Not many commissioners in my state are Christian..,” another interviewer said.

57 percent of Christian population in places like Lagos, Borno, Nasarawa, Bauchi, buttresses the fact the ruling party has made a huge mistake.

The fact is 57 percent of Nigerians are Christian, indigenous people who live and serve their God, who are accommodating and extraordinarily welcoming to other visitors and tribes that unfortunately are making every move to consolidate their cynical ruination and violent displacements via audacious but myopic political games, and violent attacks that will definitely end in futility as history unfolds. Attacks that will be intensified by a Muslim-Muslim presidency.

Citing the cases of Lagos State, Nassarawa State, Kogi State and Gombe State, you can see vividly what has kept Nigeria grossly tumultuous in the last 23 years culminating in APC’s choice of a Muslim-Muslim ticket.

This tumultuous choice is fanned by both a dangerous religious politics with its attendant socioeconomic despoliation, and a sectional mentality that deludes its insecure perpetrators.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s two Christian deputies all were forced out of his government in Lagos State. He could not carry them along and they forcefully left him to wallow in his braggadocio. Lagos has been under the leadership of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a southern Muslim, who has never treated Nigerian Christians with utmost respect, has never handled the resources of Lagos State as he should, because he was never an indigene, and a man of grace, integrity, with sense of equity, justice and truth.

Since 1999 Bola Ahmed Tinubu has cornered the commonwealth of Lagos State by singlehandedly selecting and supervising the state governors, honorable members, staffers of the judiciary and several other machineries and institutional infrastructures of government. That is not the only factor that propelled his choice of a northeast muslim as Vice President, as you will find out here.

You can trace the degradation of Christian influence in Nigeria from the 1914 amalgamation, to the 1960 selection of Sir Ahmadu Bello as the Prime Minister, to the civil war that was mainly fourth by the dominant northern Christian tribes and the Igbo who are 99% Christian.

Yakubu Gowon was used by the powers that be to fight his own Christian brothers in the South, with the help of the Yoruba Christians such as Olusegun Obasanjo. It was simply a war between Igbo Catholics and Tiv Catholics, Arewa and Yoruba Christians.

How many Muslims soldiers participated or died in the Biafran War? It was simply political manipulation. The Biafra war weakened the Christian bases of the north and south. Today, those reaping the spoils of the war are not Christians. After that war the two largest groups namely the Igbo Christians and the Northern Christians are today considered politically unimportant and also unreliable because of the fear that when they get to power they would rearrange the lies and rebuild the nation.

Kogi state has three dominant tribes which are
Ebirra (40% Christians population), Igala (57% of Christian population), and the Okuns (with over 90% Christians). Kogi State has a 57% Christian population who are tired of terrorism and attacks by Islamic groups who are against education and the Christianity.

If Boko Haram and ISWAP are fighting against education alone why are they not killing Muslim professors and teachers; why are they killing pastors and attacking Christian in churches?

This is why Christians are asking for equal representation in the APC. An APC that has been taken over by a religious bigot. He is the silent bigot who has never learnt.

It was Solomon Lar, the leader of the middle belt movement who gave Senator Abdulahi Adamu his utmost leverage when he was vying for the gubernatorial seat in Nasarawa State in 1999. This was because Abdulahi Adamu was his deputy as the governor of old Plateau State. They were friends. At that time Solomon Lar recommended Abdulahi Adamu over his Christian brother, and namesake Solomon Ewuga.

Today, Abdulahi Adamu has never supported any Christian governor in Nasarawa State, a state that has over 70% Christian population. He disappointed Solomon Lar. Abdulahi Adamu swore that over his dead body would he allow a Christian to rule Nassarawa State. When a Christian won the election in 2015, he was denied his right to lead.

Labaran Maku, former minister of Information contested in the governorship election of Nassarawa State in 2015 under APGA.

In his confession to the Cable he stated that “Both (Abdullahi Adamu and Al-Makura) of them know that they didn’t win election, both of them they know that they are sitting on a sit that they did not win, they know it and they have been confessing it in recent times of this crisis. They know Maku won the election but they upturned it now there is crisis.”

According to The Cable of September 27, 2018 1:59 PM titled ‘Maku: Senator Adamu, Al-Makura fighting over my stolen mandate’, The former minister said from 2015 till date, things have turned worse in the state.

“In the period of this four years that the mandate was stolen, things have gotten worse in Nasarawa state, killings have multiplied. In many communities today people cannot go to farm,” Maku said.

The government has been run in the most criminal way, N390 billion have been collected in this seven years but there is nothing substantive on the ground.”

The claims that killings have multiplied have been substantiated. It was in Nasarawa along Gitata-Keffi Highway that they killed the Alex Badeh, Former Chief of the Air Staff of Nigeria, on December 18, 2018. He was a Christian. Many farmers have been sacked in the state due to the eagerness of Muslim extremists to dominate the state.

This brings one to the reason for this Muslim domination and Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Muslim/Muslim ticket. Is it not to displace Christians and Christianity in Nigeria? Why shouldn’t anyone think so?

For example Abdulahi Adamu is an Afo man. Now, go to Afo villages and towns all over Keffi & Nasarawa LGAs, and count the number of Christians & Muslims, Christians clearly outnumber Muslims 70-30!

There are over 70% Christians in Nasarawa State. Yet the state is governed by a Muslim clique that has no plan to improve the life of the people. It appears as if the plan is to hold onto power and do nothing with it.

The main ethnic groups in Nasarawa State are Aguta, Alago, Basa, Ebira, Eggon, Gbagyi, Gwandara, Kanuri and Tiv. There are 29 languages spoken in the state, the major ones being: Agatu, Basa, Eggon, Gbagyi, Gade, Goemai, Gwandara, Ham, Kofyar, and Lijili. 70% of this groups are Christians.

How else can you convince me that amongst the 29 ethnic groups in Nasarawa State such as the Bassas who are 70% Christians, those that live in Karu, Akwanga, Kokona, Eggon who are 90% Christian, that no competent Christian leader can ever emerge in their state since 1999?

Because there is an Abdulahi Adamu who became a governor in Nasarawa State in 1999, and has vowed that the largely Christian state will never produce a Christian governor. This is for no justifiable reason whatsoever. Plain stupid domination. The state is in utter chaos and ruin for it. The same way Lagos has been in completely disastrous flood and poor standard of living, but still the most taxed enclave in Africa.

Today, the same Abdulahi Adamu has brought the same domination in the APC at the federal level through his partner Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He has given Bola Ahmed Tinubu the Nasarawa template of “Dominate the Christians.”

It is the same case in Adamawa State and Kaduna.
Most of Adamawa tribes are either entirely Christian, overwhelmingly Christian or predominantly Christian. Adamawa’s largest indigenous tribe is the Bwatiye (Bachama & Batta). They are over 90% Christian. There is no single Bwatiye village or Hamlet that is muslim majority. Finding a Bwatiye Muslim is like finding a needle in a haystack.

In Nigeria Adamawa is the eighth largest in area but the thirteenth least populous with an estimated population of about 5.5 million as of 2020. The state capital is Yola and there are over 78 tribes in Adamawa state. Some of the tribes includes: Fulani, Kilba, Chamber, Kanuri, Gude, Waja, Vere, Tangale, Wurkun, Michika, Bura, Tera, Sawa, Mafa, Margi, Hausa and Yungur.

These tribes are 60% Christians in Adamawa State and even in the entire core of the North East, that’s why the terror groups are agitating so as to dominate the Christians by rampant killing.

There is no truth in using the term Christian minority in Adamawa State. Most of the indigenous tribes of Gombi & Song (Yungurr, Lala, Ganda, Ngwahi, Ngwaba, Bura) are 90% Christian. The tribes that are mixed in Adamawa are Kanakuru, Kilba, Chamba, Marghi, Mumuye, Verre, Fali, Gude & Nzanyi.

On May 21, 2014, Vanguard published an article titled “I’m not a religious bigot – Nyako”, where the then Governor of Adamawa State

Murtala Nyako claimed that he is not denying Christian groups right to acquire Certificates of Occupancy, stating that “The term Christian minorities is a misnomer in Adamawa State because we have 21 local government areas and about one-third is predominantly Moslim populated; another one-third predominantly Christian dominated while the remaining one-third has nearly equal populations of both.”

Three of my sources in the state recorded that the state is 60% Christian. Currently the has two Christian senators.

This is why I am sure Babachir Lawal’s advice to the APC to withdraw the Muslim/Muslim ticket is valid. He is from Adamawa State. He is a liberal democrat and leader who supported Mohammadu Buhari with all his followers in Adamawa politics.

Is it not a political miscalculation for the APC to disregard the entire Christian population in Nasarawa, Adamawa, Borno, Bauchi, Plateau, and Gombe, who can gather over 10 million votes for the party. It amounts to religious domination founded on a dangerous ideology.

In Plateau State majority of the indigenous people are Christians.

In Bauchi Stare majority of the indigenous people are Christians.

In 2011 the Sayawa people of Tafawa Balewa expelled Hausa fulanis from Tafawa Balewa town because of the continuous killing and war against the Christian hosts.

That opened the eyes of many that when Christians rise they can reclaim their country the same way the indigenous people of Sri Lanka arose and reclaimed their country from impostors.

Kaduna State has over 55% of the indigenous population who are Christians but its people has been seriously injured and made uncomfortable by the current government of the state by its Muslim/Muslim representative at the state level followed by current killings and mass violence. Will this not be replicated at the federal level?

Benue, Plateau, Kogi, Tararaba, Adamawa, Nasarawa and FCT are clearly Christian majority states.

Gombe, Niger & Kwara states are at least 50% Christian.

Borno, Bauchi & Kebbi states are about 50% Christian.

The southern parts of these states are majorly Christian.

In Southern Katsina state about 6 LGAs, Kafur, Malumfashi, Funtua, Bakori, Kankia & Dutsin-Ma are heavily christian. Most of the rural areas and villages in these LGAs are Christian.

If you combine this date with the entire South of Nigeria that is 90% Christian you will be clearly shocked that the strategy of misinformation about the number of Christians in Nigeria would lead Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s political future to a brutal end.

Even if he rigs the election, he would meet the greatest turbulence in the history of West African politics. Everything he does would be dismissed.

The government will definitely fail.
Isn’t it obvious that the Christian population is alarmed and no one would succeed in stealing their voices on this one?

Therefore, whether the APC changes its Vice presidential candidate or not, forgive Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s gasconade, focus on Babachir’s recommendations and Nigeria’s Christian majority, alongside the growing number of “Obi-centric” Muslims who desire an equal, fair and just society.
