Kidnappers Demand N3m Ransom To Free Abducted Naval Staff

Gunmen who abducted a member of staff of the Nigerian Navy identified as Mr. Musa Lawal, have demanded the sum of N3 million as ransom.

The Navy personnel who was reportedly abducted in Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State at about 8 pm on Monday evening, is said to be serving at Naval Headquarters Abuja when he was kidnapped at his residence, behind Post Flood Housing Estate, Lokoja.

The suspected bandits who were heavily armed, destroyed the doors and windows of his house to gain entry.

It was learnt that Musa was due to depart for his station at Abuja on Tuesday morning before he was abducted by the gunmen.

Meawhile, barely an hour after the kidnap, the abductors called, demanding for 3 million naira ransom.

The traumatised wife of the victim, Juliana, while narrating her ordeal, said one of her husband’s hands was cut and he was bleeding while being taken away by the gunmen.

Similarly, the Director of Naval Information, Commodore AO Ayo-Vaughan also confirmed the incident.
