Ifeanyi Chukuma Odii Wins Ebonyi PDP Guber - Primary Election.

A business mogul, Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, has emerged winner in a factional gubernatorial primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ebonyi state.

The Guber Primary election took place at the Party secretariat located along Abakaliki/ Enugu expressway, of the state.

Odii hails from Onitcha Local government area of Ebonyi state, same Ebonyi south senatorial zone with the governor of Ebonyi state Chief David Umahi, who is currently saving out his 8 years tenure.

The business mogul, Odii was declared winner by the gubernatorial committee chairman for Ebonyi state, Mr. Rotimi Olaleken.

He announced that, Odii polled a total of 349 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mr. Chris Usulor who scored 9 votes.

Other contestants are Mr. Sylvester Ogbaga a fourth term member of the House of Representatives got 1 vote, Chukwuma Nwazunku who is also member of the House of Representatives in the national assembly got 1 votes.

According to him: "we have 5 invalid votes. The exercise was done in the open and by the powers conferred to me by the national leadership of our great party, PDP, I therefore wish to declare Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii as winner for the governorship primary election that took place in the state.

The state chairman of the party, Mr. Silas Onu however handed over the flag of the party to fly as its governorship candidate come 2023 general election in the state.

Recall that four gubernatorial aspirants; Sylvester Ogbaga, Chukwuma Nwazunku and two others withdrew from participating in the race.

The governorship aspirants vowed that the primary elections can't stand the test of time and alleged that the whole exercise was done secretly.

The PDP flag bearer in the state, Mr. Chukwuma Odii while speaking with journalists in the state, vowed to reclaim the mandate of PDP in Ebonyi state.
