Easter: As We Celebrate God's Love, Let's Show Love To Others

The chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Reformatory Institutions and the leading gubernatorial aspirant in the forthcoming 2023 general elections in Ebonyi State, Hon. Anayo Edwin, has sent hearty felicitations to Ebonyi people as they commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ in the 2023 Easter celebrations. In an Easter message released to newsmen from his campaign office in the Government Reservation Area, Abakaliki, Hon. Edwin congratulated the Christian community in Ebonyi State for successfully completing their Easter duties and prayed that the spiritual revival, remission of sins and graces which derive from the passion of Christ shall avail Ebonyi people at all times.

In the words of Hon Anayo Edwin, "As we conclude the 2023 Easter duties which culminates into the celebration to mark the triumph of our saviour, Jesus Christ, over death, I wish to heartily felicitate with my warm people of Ebonyi State. Easter celebration is basically a commemoration of God's love for humanity which made Him to give His only begotten son for our salvation.

"The best way to celebrate God's love is simply to mirror that pristine love in our actions as we relate with fellow human beings irrespective of their status and ideological or religious persuasions. If we strive to do that, the world will become a better place for mankind. It is my prayer that the spiritual revival, remission of sins and graces which derive from the passion of Christ shall avail Ebonyi people at all times."

The federal legislator who represents Ezza North/Ishielu Federal Constituency in the National Assembly equally charged Ebonyi people of voting age who have not gotten their voter's cards to utilize the opportunity of the last lap of the continuous voters registration exercise to obtain their voter's cards. The Ebonyi 2023 gubernatorial hopeful equally thanked all Ebonyi people for their enthusiasm and support for his aspiration to rescue Ebonyi people as well as for their confidence in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as a vehicle for development and good governance.

"I charge all Ebonyi people who have attained the age of franchise but are yet to obtain their permanent voter's cards to ensure that they obtain them in this last period of registration before the general elections. In our democratic society, the voter's card is a very powerful instrument.

"It is my sincere hope that working together in the coming days, we shall RESCUE THE STATE and bring A BREATHE OF FRESH AIR to our dear state and transform it to where Ebonyians will inhale a new IKUKUNDU", Hon. Edwin concluded.

Christians all over the world embarked on the annual commemoration of the passion of Jesus Christ in a forty-day lenten period which highlight is the Easter Sunday celebration to mark the triumph of Jesus Christ over sin and death. The federal government announced Friday (Good Friday), 15th April and Monday (Easter Monday), 18th April as public holidays to enable Christians celebrate.
