Families of Deceased Police Officers in Kastina Receive N18m Cheques

The sum of N18.9 million has been presented in valued cheques by the Katsina State Police Command to families/next-of-kin of police officers who died in active service.

Idrisu Dauda, the state Commissioner of Police made the presentation on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman at the Command Headquarters in Katsina on Wednesday.

He noted that gesture was part of the IGP’s Family Welfare Insurance Scheme being given to families of deceased Police operatives.

The program which was held today witnessed the presentation of various cheques containing different amounts of money to families of 20 deceased police officers who died in active service.

CP Idrisu Dauda, while presenting the cheques, expressed gratitude to the efforts of the Inspector-General of Police for improving the welfare of the officers of the Nigeria Police Force.

He also urged the beneficiaries to judiciously use the money given to them.

Speaking on behalf of other bbeneficiaries, Maryam Sabo, thanked the IGP for the welfare package, assuring that the money would be judiciously used.
