"Execution Of White Elephant Projects Remains Bane Of underdevelopment Of Ebonyi State",, Guber Aspirant

The neglect of the rural areas in the provision of basic necessities of life in favour of white elephant projects that hardly hold value to the lives of the people but consume chunk of the state funds remains the bane of underdevelopment of Ebonyi state.

The governorship aspirant on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Fidelis Nwankwo made this remarks on the occasion of his declaration to contest for governorship position of Ebonyi state in Abakaliki.

Chief Nwankwo said that provision of decentralized water system, rural electrification, and rural roads will be a priority issue in his government, stressing that it will help trigger a massive growth in micro and small industries in the rural areas.

He expressed his prepardness to develop primary health care system to replicate what he did as a local government chairman that led to the complete eradication of guinea worm in the area through Jimmy Carter foundation.

The governorship faithful noted that in a way to have well articulated meaningful and sustainable programmes and projects, his government will provide a government that is characterized by sincerity of purpose with civility anchored on established due process of running government business.

According to him, such will help to restore normalcy in all facets of their lives including security of lives and properties of the citizens.

He said that all those who live in the state, do their business and pay taxes will be regarded as citizens of the state and accorded full right of the citizens, adding that the term non - indigene will have no place in his government.

Chief Nwankwo promised to revisit the issue of all those whose properties including shops at Abakpa main market and building in other parts of the state were destroyed with view to replacing them or paying them compensation.

"Provision of decentralized water system, rural electrification, and rural roads will be a priority issue in his government,. This we hope will help trigger a massive growth in micro and small industries in the rural areas.

"Development of primary health care system will come under this section. My passion for the development of primary health care system remains burning since my days as a local government chairman of Izzi.

"For emphasis, my government will revisit the issue of all those whose properties including shops at Abakpa main market and building in other parts of the state were destroyed with view to replacing them or paying them compensation".
