Udenyi Community Astir For Anayo Edwin-nwoñu

The sleepy pastoral village of Udenyi in Unwuezoka Community in Ezza North LGA of Ebonyi State, noted for being excluded from the developmental pland of successive administrations in Ebonyi State, was recently astire. The occasion was the visit of the personification of the most attractive and formidable Ebonyi gubernatorial project in the oncoming 2023 general election who represents Ezza North/Ishielu Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Anayo Peter Edwin-Nwoñu (Anatex), to the community to commission one of his life-changing constituency projects in the hitherto forgotten neighbouring village to Ndegazu Unwuezoka - the village of the incumbent chairman of Ezza North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

From the quarry industrial zone road junction of the Abakaliki - Enugu expressway, a large army of enthusiastic pastoral out-riders and supporters led by a community leader and entrepreneur of international repute, Mr. Theophilus Nwafor (Theo Links) lined up to lead the Anatex gubernatorial train through the long, windy and undulating earth road to Udenyi village. From the precincts, the seams of the rusty Udenyi village bursted with innumerable school children, women, vibrant youths and elders of the village as well as their friends and well-wishers from the entire Unwuezoka community and the rest of Ezza North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. The enthusiasm and excitement of the pastoral people of Udenyi in welcoming their benevolent federal legislator - Anayo Edwin-Nwoñu - was understandable: Udenyi village which was treated as one of the "gentile" areas of Ezza North Local Government Area by several administrations had no hope of any development, not to talk of electricity, until Edwin-Nwoñu broke that jinx of underdevelopment by bringing them many projects including electricity. For the villagers, it was a new dawn and the presence of the man who gave them electricity in their midst was a rare opportunity deserving great celebration.

At Mother Enabler Nursery and Primary School, venue of the reception, the crowd of community people, their friends and well-wishers were jubilant and excited to have the company of Anayo Edwin-Nwoñu who brought power and development to their forgotten rural village. School children eulogized the compassionate federal legislator in well-crafted ballads. Cultural dances and displays were presented by innumerable women and youth groups; and elders of the community praised the courageous political will of Representative Anayo Edwin-Nwoñu in delivering monumental life-changing projects to forgotten communities like Udenyi. In a welcome address presented by a community leader and entrepreneur of international repute, Mr Theophilus Nwafor, he expressed pristine appreciations for their unassuming federal legislator for responding promptly to Udenyi village's cry for development.

In the words of Nwafor: "I call on our leaders at different categories in the state and national levels to emulate Rt. Hon. Anayo Edwin-Nwoñu's humility and sensitivity to the plights of the people he represents. Edwin-Nwoñu is a young and responsible leader and I charge Ebonyi people to support him for a higher office in 2023 because his performancees in his present office has shown that he is the messiah that Ebonyi State has been looking for to lead them out of underdevelopment. The people of Udenyi are happy. We owe you, our federal legislator, a humongous debt of gratitude; and we will pay you back with undiluted prayers, moral support and by voting for you in all elections."

Concluding, Mr. Nwafor charged the people of Udenyi to ensure that they get their respective permanent voter's cards ready to enable them vote for Anayo Edwin-Nwoñu and his political party, PDP, in the forthcoming 2023 general elections through which he hoped that Anayo Edwin-Nwoñu will obtain the mandate of the entire Ebonyi people to serve as the fourth democratically-elected governor of Ebonyi State. He assured his people of Udenyi that with Anayo Edwin-Nwoñu as Governor of Ebonyi State, the interests of the ordinary citizens of Udenyi and, indeed, Ebonyi people shall be guaranteed. Nwafor thanked "Rt. Hon. Anayo Edwin-Nwoñu for breaking away from his overcrowded schedule to be with his people of Udenyi Unwuezoka".

After the commissioning of the electricity project, Rt. Hon. Anayo Edwin-Nwoñu thanked Udenyi people for their warm reception; and gave a fully-paid full session scholarship to the school children who performed the ballad in his honour. He donated a brand new motorcycle to their mistress, funds to various women and youth groups who performed in the ceremony as well as the elders of Udenyi and a new transformer for the stabilization of electricity and its extension to other parts of Udenyi.

Other highlights of the reception included kick-off of a football tournament organized in the federal lawmaker's honour by his friend and chief host, Mr. Theophilus Nwafor, at Community Primary School, Eñiriña Unwuezoka; and presentation of a cow gift to the august visitor by Udenyi people.
