Kaduna Polytechnic Should Commend Bugaje Not Condemn Him

I followed the trail of Kaduna Polytechnic saga with the former rector of the institution as an analyst I watch the events with dismay. As a passionate person for news and information and also as a contributor of information to say the fact and the bitter truth for once and forever Professor Idris Muhammad Bugaje never deserve any attack, bullying and or blackmail from the people of Kaduna Polytechnic being students, staff and any other person, from what I glanced from many story channels I believed that Bugaje is a saint on purpose.

The saga between Bugaje and Kaduna Polytechnic Stakeholders is about the nature of some Nigerians that only praise you when you are in charge because they know they can get some dividends from you but instantly and bluntly turn you down when you cease to be their benefactor and turn to another godfather to tap.

Professor Bugaje was a cannon that set a prosperous path for Kaduna Polytechnic and he achieved tremendous objectives for the Institution. Professor Bugaje's name is written with gold ink in Kaduna Polytechnic and will forever be remembered for his administrative records.

To thwart corruption in Kaduna Polytechnic professor Bugaje set a Policy and Transparency Division and it eradicated corruption, examination malpractices, sex for grade, extortion from lecturers of their students and addressed the dress code nightmare.

Kaduna Polytechnic had good touch of development with many different giant buildings all around. The giant departments of Railway Engineering and Chemical Engineering are history in the book of Kaduna Polytechnic. The new Petrochemical Engineering and the Mass Communication Departments are answers to what made Kaduna Polytechnic the Giant Institution in Africa. Bugaje's administration concept made him to upgraded the Kaduna Polytechnic clinic to world class standard with modern and sophisticated equipments to meet the demands of students and staff health care services. Before his appointment as the rector of Kaduna Polytechnic 85% of Kaduna Polytechnic courses lost their accreditations but in one year of his rectorship he injected lives to the epileptic courses. To improve students welfares he sourced three 60 seaters buses from TETFund and sourced a 70 seaters luxury bus from Adamu Gwarzo Foundation.

Among some of the achievements of professor Idris Bugaje was constructing interlock passages by the road sides to avoid traffic risk in the institution and in his own capacity he secured roads contracts and amend the dilapidated roads of Kaduna Polytechnic and the Malam Adamu Adamu Road was a history in record that expanded Kaduna Polytechnic main campus and opened a new world in the institution. The Road brought about new development in the then isolated and smokers den arena. Indeed the Malam Adamu Adamu Road is a blessing to Kaduna Polytechnic for having a new gate at Badiko axis. Meanwhile, Spider Radio of Mass Communication Department, Kaduna Polytechnic is adapting to its objective of training students in broadcasting and journalism and it is perfecting students talent and sharpening their knowledge. Also to give an upper hand to Kadpoly Consult during his time Bugaje upgraded its jurisdiction and production to yield big profits for the IGR of the Institution. At his time Bugaje was passionate about staff training and development and I believed Kaduna Polytechnic will miss him dearly in that area and I asked why Kaduna Polytechnic communities can so soon forget all these blessings of their past rector that was appointed to serve the Institution for five years?

As an alumni of the Institution and a former staff of Kaduna Polytechnic I could remember before the coming of Bugaje many students don't want to study in the historic institution because of incessant strikes and the strikes dwindled the IGR of the Institution then why some Kaduna Polytechnic staff resort to taunt professor Bugaje?

Professor Bugaje made a history in Kaduna Polytechnic where all Directors and Chief Executive officers got official cars. This is a new project of turning a new leaf in Kaduna Polytechnic and I wondered why can the top officers could easily forget this and turn mute on the fabricated Kaduna Polytechnic Stakeholders?

Kaduna Polytechnic alumni was in comatose and I read that it was not in any activity of giving back to the Institution but now the alumni is a shining star that all the students of Kaduna want to reach to but I don't know if the students of Kaduna Polytechnic can easily forget the dividends of Professor Idris Bugaje on shunning internal strikes in Kaduna Polytechnic and the non withdrawal policy of students from the Institution for poor performance?

Bugaje introduced the first ever e-learning courses in Kaduna Polytechnic to ease learning and fat size the IGR, he affiliated Kaduna Polytechnic and Ahmadu Bello university on degree programmes to expand Kaduna Polytechnic programmes and expands its profits. Bugaje introduced health courses in Kaduna polytechnic and Midwifery course will boost women education in Kaduna state and to make the system efficient and Kaduna Polytechnic robust Bugaje employed hundreds of staff. And to facilitate another chain of resource in the Institution Bugaje upgraded Kadpoly Microfinance Bank to a standard service banking for the benefit of Kaduna Polytechnic staff and students. He upgraded departments to colleges and new courses were been introduced in the making of Kaduna Polytechnic biggest.

I read about the good development of the Center for Technology established by Professor Bugaje. It purpose is to focus on breeding new ideas on technology and promote local productions. The Center helped in reducing unemployment among Kaduna state youth and enhanced students technological experiences.

Professor Bugaje the then rector of Kaduna Polytechnic and now the Executive Secretary of National Board for Technical education Board set goals of purpose for students voice in the institution, the tremendous projects constructed by his team of management will last forever and for this tremendous achievements Professor Idris Muhammad Bugaje should be commended not Condemn.
