Your Advise To Governor Ikpeazu is Diversionary, Respond to Issues Raised about Your Stewardship - PDP Replies Ume Kalu

The attention of PDP Prayer Network has been drawn to the unfortunate and diversionary letter written against the Governor, Speaker and Government of Abia State by a political turncoat and agent provocateur, Mr. Ume Kalu in which he tried to incite the people against the government.

In a statement released to newsmen in Abuja by the national coordinator of the group, Mr. Emmanuel Chukwu, the group said, having served as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Abia State for 10 years without introducing any tangible reform or transformation in God's Own State, Mr. Kalu should be ashamed of authoring such hallucinating letter against the persons who brought him in to the government despite his questionable past.

Ordinarily, we would have ignored Mr. Ume Kalu for not disappointing those who have known him for treachery but because he attempted to make himself a cheap hero in the midst of many smelling skeletons in his cupboard, we decided to intervene in the interest of the general public who may be deceived by this malevolent dictator whose only achievement as Attorney General of the state was incarceration of innocent youths of his community who resisted his self-serving interest in the state.

Accordingly, we challenge Mr. Ume Kalu to respond to allegations of financial improprieties and money laundering leveled against him by a renowned anti-graft fighter and whistle blower, Dr. George Uboh who in a letter dated February 11, 2021 alleged that Mr. Kalu as Attorney General of Abia State received the sum of N330m in eleven tranches of thirty-five million (N35, 000, 000.00) from Uddy King Oil on the 02/11/2018 in which he transferred the sum of ten million (N10, 000, 000. 00) in 33 tranches to Goodlink Oil for Onward Credit to Rosa Mystica which aggregated to three hundred and thirty million (N330, 000, 000. 00).

We believe that he who goes to equity must go with clean hands. Therefore, we want Mr. Ume Kalu as a legal luminary to state whether his involvement in the promotion of private businesses and money laundering does not contravene section 2(b) of the Code of Conducts for Public Officers. This Code contained in the 1999 Constitution reads: “Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing paragraph, a public officer shall not engage or participate in the management or running of any private business, profession or trade.”

Therefore, Mr. Ume Kalu and his co-travelers should be gracious to the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly and the government of Abia State for governing the state with the fear of God; otherwise, people like Mr. Ume Kalu are supposed to be languishing in jail for breach of public trust.
