Ethiopian Airline Resumes Enugu International Flights On 1st October 2021

Africa's most enduring and successful airline, Ethiopian Airlines has confirmed its preparedness to commence International flight services from Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu on 1st October, 2021.

The flight commencement was confirmed to The Nigerian Voice by Ashenafi Zeray, Senior Corporate Communications officer at the airline's headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. "We will resume our Enugu flight effective 1st October, 2021" the clarification message stated.

Ethiopian Airlines flight operations from Enugu would be on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday with B787 Dreamliner.

Recall that the airline stopped its operations to Enugu in 2019 when Enugu airport was closed for maintenance work at the runway. Meanwhile, before the temporary closure of the airport, Ethiopian airline was the only International airline flying to Enugu airport

Ethiopian airlines was founded on 21 December 1945 and commenced operations on 8 April 1946 and made her maiden flight to Nigeria in 1960. The airline is Africa's biggest, safest and most successful airline with fleet size of 128 aircraft and average fleet age of 7.5 years, it operates International flights to 106 international destinations.

With the proposed Ethiopian airlines flight resumption to Enugu, heightened commercial activities at the airport are expected soon.
