Crescent Varsity Matriculates 412, Urges Freshers To Uphold Academic, Moral Discipline
No fewer than four hundred and twelve students have been matriculated study various programmes at the Bola Ajibola College of Law(BACOLAW), College of Information and Communication Technology (CICOT); College of Arts, Social and Management Sciences (CASMAS); College of Natural and Applied Sciences (CONAS) and College of Environmental Sciences(COES) respectively for the 2020/2021 academic session at Crescent University, Abeokuta, Nigeria.
It was the 16th matriculation ceremony of the institution reputable for academic and moral excellence.
In his matriculation address, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibraheem Gbajabiamila congratulated the new intakes for being among the privileged to be admitted into the university and counselled them not to engage in cultism, drug abuse, violence, examination practice and other social vices as "they could send you away from the university".
Gbajabiamila also revealed that the College of Health Sciences (COHES) for Nursing, Anatomy and Physiology would soon commence operations after the visit by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and other regulatory bodies.
Meanwhile, authorities of the university have constituted a panel of enquiry on a trending online story of a 500-level student of law, Samuel Olusope alleged to have sexually abused another male student of the university.
This is contained in a release by the Public Relations Office.
While the investigations are ongoing, the institution stressed that "we have zero tolerance for any act of indecency or indiscipline as this is vividly reflected in the vision and mission of the university".
"Our publics should rest assured that the investigations will be conducted with utmost fear of God and fairness from all evidences gathered which will also be made public", the release stated.
