The residence of Nigeria's Foreign Affairs minister, Odein Ajumogbia, was earlier today gutted by fire.

Sources disclosed that the fire which started at about 4pm, razed down the home of the minister located in the minister's Hill section of Abuja.

Pointblanknews.com sources said nothing was salvaged from the razed home.

It was learnt that the minister and his family who were home at the time of the inferno, escaped unhurt.

Pointblanknews.com also gathered that the fire was caused by power surge, occasioned by incessant disruption by the PHCN.

According to our source, shortly after those in the household noticed smoke and sparks, a call was put to the epileptic federal fire service. But before they could mobilize fire engines to the location, the damage had been completed.

Mr Ajumogbia, and his family are currently staying with family members pending formal relocation.

President Goodluck Jonathan, and the Secretary to the Government have briefed of the incident.
