How Nnamdi Kanu's sex video was leaked: Igbo group

The Igbo Renaissance Forum on Friday expressed shock over “the circulation of a video showing the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and his wife in intimate positions which has gone viral.”

“We wish to state that it is condescending and repugnant to say the least for people to have fun spreading such video on various platforms online,” the group said in a statement signed by the International Coordinator, Nze Ugo-Akpe Onwuka (Oyi of Oyi II).

On the origin of the sex video, the group said: “We have carried out our independent investigations, and we have discovered that the video making the rounds was taken off his phone that was stolen sometime in 2013.

“It is important to note that this video being used today as a tool to attack the personality of Nnamdi Kanu is without doubt recorded with no intention of being released for public viewing.

“We are not in any way encouraging the production of such materials in the first place, but we do not support the act of publishing the video online.”

Condemning the viralling of the video, the forum said: “This is another man's life being dragged through the gutters with the attendant mobbing of the individuals involved in the video in sundry manners.

“It is unfortunate that this video fell into the wrong hands and subsequently ended up online.

“This is also a lesson to everyone to be wary of materials that we record on our devices.

“We wish to ask that those who have resorted to using the video as a tool for vain, malicious and vitriolic attacks on Nnamdi Kanu advice themselves and know that it doesn’t show strength when you go kicking someone who is down.

“Let's be circumspect as we take the actions we take today.

“We implore everyone with a good conscience to please for the sake of their matrimonial privacy, cease the sharing of the viral video.”
