ABUJA: (THEWILL) The Peoples Democratic Party Board of Trustees meeting which held Monday night at the Presidential Villa ended with disagreement from members initially on the choice of Chief Okesilieze Nwodo as some who banked on Chief Chukwu Ozichukwu, erstwhile National Vice Chairman had their hopes dashed, THEWILL learnt from sources at the Presidency.

Though no official statement has emanated from the meeting as at press time, it became apparent after Mr. President threw his weight behind Chief Nwodo, which subsequently resulted in bandwagon effect from other unwilling members at the meeting.

THEWILL further learnt that no date has been fixed yet for the presentation of Nwodo to the NEC of the party as the BoT will again meet before the National Executive Committee meeting which has been shifted indefinitely.

THE NEC meeting was first scheduled to hold today, then it was moved to Thursday before it was shifted indefinitely to allow for wider consultation amongst the leadership of the party.

Nwodo's candidacy is said to be a tricky one as he would need a waiver to qualify as party chairman. His return to the PDP fold has not been upto a year which is one of the requirements following the party's constitution.

But plans have been made to have the party at state and zonal level implement a waiver to enable him become eligible for the office.
