CEDI, CDRP hold roundtable on corruption in Nigeria

Civil society groups in Osun State, Climate and Environmental Development Initiative (CEDI) and the Committee for Democracy and Right of the People (CDRP) today held a roundtable on corruption in Nigeria as part to efforts to curb corruption in the country.

The roundtable which was held at the Correspondents' Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Osogbo, capital of Osun State attracted top personalities from all walks of life particularly the civil right activists in the state.

The discussants include the Head of Service in the state, Dr Olowogboyega Oyegbade, the Commissioner for Local government and Chieftaincy Matters, Barrister Kolapo Maruf Alimi and the coordinator of Ola-Oni Center, Comrade Wale Adebisis.

The President of CEDI, Comrade Amitolu Shitu in his remarks said the roundtable was organized to mark the International Anti-Corruption Day with aim of re-echoing the need to curb corruption in the country.

The discussants dissected the situation of corruption in the country and stated that corruption must be killed otherwise it will kill the nation and people would suffer.
