1000 PDP Faithful Dump Party For YDP In Delta

Ahead of the January 6, 2018 local government and the 2019 general election in Delta State, 1000 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) followers haVE rejected the party to form alliance with the Young Democratic Party (YDP), to wrestle power from PDP.

The defectors who are from an agrarian community of Ase, Ndokwa East Local Government Area of the state Sunday October 15 2017, were led by Chief Chukwuma Benson to the Young Democratic Party.

At the ceremony witnessed by the State Working Committee of the YDP led by its chairman, Barr Festus Ofume, Chief Benson stated that with the end of his romance with the PDP, PDP has become a ghost town in Ase Kingdom and Ndokwa East Local Government Area generally.

Chief Benson disclosed that his resolve to work for the growth and success of YDP in Ndokwa nation was to see that PDP was completely dead in the council area, decrying that the culture of imposition, nepotism and lack of internal democracy which has reduced the party to a directionless group.

In his response, the visibly elated YDP state chairman, Barr Ofume while welcoming Chief Benson and his teeming supporters into YDP, noting that the days of deception by the PDP was over.

He assured the people of Ase Kingdom and Ndokwa nation that the party was poised to changing the sad narrative of the people.

He stated that YDP which believes in a break from the dark past as represented by the PDP, believes in providing good leadership that would transform the lives of the people at the grassroots.

Barr Ofume also took a swipe at the state governor, Mr Ifeanyi Okowa and the PDP administration in state for mortgaging the future of Deltans through alleged reckless and unbridled looting and for neglecting the people of Ase Kingdom and Ndokwa nation generally.

While assuring that a YDP administration in state come 2019 would take away the pains of Deltans, stating that his assurance with the over 1000 decampees to YDP, the party would emerge victorious in the forthcoming Local Government Council elections in Ase Ward and Ndokwa East Local Government Area.

Highlight of the ceremony was the Inauguration of the YDP Unit and Ward Executives as well as the presentation of the YDP flag to Chief Benson Chukwuma and his supporters.
