LAGERBACK FACES FIRST TEST

Super Eagles manager, Lars Lagerback, faces the first test with the team on Tuesday as Nigeria and Saudi Arabia clash in a pre-World cup friendly encounter.

Lagerback has been working on his defence and that is an area of importance, especially in the team's first match at the World Cup.

Nigeria faces Argentina on June 12 and players like Diego Milito, Gonzalo Higuain, Lionel Messi and Carlos Tevez will be all out for the Eagles.

'The defence is important just to avoid mistakes that could embarrass the team. Every area is important but I am delighted with what I have seen so far at the training sessions with the team,' Lagerback said.

Against the Saudis, the coach and his assistants are expected to also try out tactics that could be of advantage for the team in the preliminaries of the World Cup.

The match is also very important for the players as seven out of the 30 in London will be dropped from the final list of 23

The final list will be sent to FIFA latest on June 1 but the Eagles are billed to play another friendly encounter on May 30 against Colombia in London.

Nigeria's last match is on June 6 against North Korea in South Africa.
