NANS Rejects new JAMB registration method

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has expressed its dislike for the new registration method of Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

This was contained in a statement made available to journalists on Saturday and signed by the association's chairman for Osun State Axis, Comrade Miftah Saheed.

NANS noted that the new registration method is causing a lot of stress and frustration to admission seekers.

The association thereby urged the board to revert to the old means of registration or develop a less cumbersome procedure for registration.

According to the statement, "When JAMB announced the introduction of the new pin vending means of registration, Nigerians and students in particular, welcomed it with the hope that it will bring improvement and make registration and sitting for the exams stress-free.

"Today however, rather than bring improvement, the new method has become a source of pain, anguish and stress for admission seekers.

"There is no tenable excuse whatsoever to warrant the suffering JAMB is making Nigerian students go through before registering. It takes one student a week before he/she can complete registration, that is if the JAMB server or the internet service of the bank work as it should. A visit to any of the participating banks or CBT registration centre will attest to this facts.

"We hereby call on the appropriate authorities to call JAMB to order by reverting to the old means of registration or develop a less cumbersome procedure for registration."
