School clears Ta’awun President on certificate forgery

The Management of Islahudeen Arabic School in Iwo, Osun State has cleared the new President of Jama’at Ta’awunnil Muslimeen, Dr. Shafi’i Abdul-Azeez Bello on the allegation that the renowned Muslim cleric forged the certificate of the school to obtain higher education to PhD level.

A statement issued and signed by the Principal of the school, Shaykh Yaqub Abdul-Baaqi Muhammad confirmed that Dr. Shafi’I attended Islahudeen Arabic School and completed his study at the school before he went for his higher education.

According to the statement, Shaykh Abdul-Baaqi Muhammad said “We hereby debunk the allegation of certificate forgery level against one of our former students, Dr. Shafi’i Abdul-Azeez Bello.”

“We therefore confirm that Dr. Shafi’i Abdul-Azeez Bello obtained his secondary certificate form Islahudeen Arabic School, Iwo and there is no basis for the unfounded allegation against him.”

Shaykh Abdul-Baaqi Muhammad said the frivolous allegation by one Abdulsalam Abdulfatah which was published in the Nigerian Voice online news medium on 4th January, 2017, was a fallacy and should be disregarded.

His words: “The Management hereby affirms that Dr. Shafi’i Abdul-Azeez Bello is one of the graduates of Islahudeen Arabic School, Iwo, Osun State who obtained certificates of three levels: Primary, Junior and senior secondary schools.

“That the Management of Islahudeen Arabic School, Iwo, Osun State, Nigeria awarded the Secondary School Arabic Certificate to Dr. Shafi’i Abdul-Azeez Bello after he had passed all the required subjects in the final year.

“That the information published and spread online on 4th January, 2017 by Abdulsalam Abdulfatah on behalf of Daood Imran Molaasan on forgery allegation of secondary certificate obtained by Dr. Shafi’i Abdul-Azeez Bello from the aforementioned school is hereby debunked and regarded as a blatant fallacy against our responsible graduate.

Shaykh Abdul-Baaqi Muhammad expressed worry that the baseless allegation by Abdulfatah and Dawood embarrassed the school and could damage its integrity that was built over the years.

The Principal warns Abdulfatah and Dawood to desist from engaging in such ridiculous behaviour and threatened to sue them if such malicious attitude reoccurs.
