Igede Students' Union Independent Electoral Commission (ISUIEC) 2016/2017
PREAMBLE:
Igede Students' Union (ISU) is an umbrella body for all students in Igede Ekiti which comprises all recognised Quarters by the Union Constitution (Odogede, Irona,Ilogbo,Ilamoye, Odo-Uri).
This Union is the largest students movement and Union in Igede Ekiti with the conglomeration of all Quarters being represented at the Legislative Arm as senator, forming the senate assembly, representing about thousands armless battalion students membership strength.
Since the inception of the Union, it has been in vanguard of campaigning for unity, brotherhood, equity, justice and good governance. The contribution of this great noble Union in bringing about nascent democracy cannot be over-emphasized.
IGEDE STUDENTS' UNION INDEPENDENT ELECTORAL COMMISSION (ISUIEC):
The Electoral Commission is an five-man committee responsible for organizing pre-election, election and immediate post election activities i.e swearing in ceremony of the Union but given that Odogede Quarters is not being representes have to be four man committee.
NOMINATION OF MEMBERS OF THE IGEDE STUDENTS' UNION INDEPENDENT ELECTORAL COMMISSION (ISUIEC) 2016/2017:
The Senate Council of Igede Students' Union constituted the IGEDE STUDENTS' UNION INDEPENDENT ELECTORAL COMMISSION (ISUIEC) 2016/2017 in accordance to Article 4 Section 3(1) which empowers the Senate Arm to appoint members of the Commission on Saturday,17th December, 2016. The Senate Council unanimously resolved and agreed the nomination of the following trusted people as members of IGEDE STUDENTS' UNION INDEPENDENT ELECTORAL COMMISSION (ISUIEC) 2016/2017:-
1. Comrade Idowu Morounmubo Frank
2. Comrade Olorunsola Samuel
3. Comrade Arowolo Tobi
4. Comrade Folorunso Taiwo
LEADERSHIP OF IGEDE STUDENTS' UNION INDEPENDENT ELECTORAL COMMISSION (ISUIEC) 2016/2017:
In accordance with Article 4 Section 3(7),the Senate Council unianmously appointed Comr. Idowu Morounmubu Frank as the Chairman of the Electoral Commission. The constituted National Electoral Commission were inaugurated at the congress which took place On Sunday, 18th December, 2016 at Onigede's palace Hall. The election of the principle officers of the committee was also conducted successfully. The elected officers are as follows:-
1. Comr. Idowu Morounmubo Frank - Chairman
2. Comr. Arowolo Tobi - Secretary
3. Comr. Folorunso Taiwo- Publicity Secretary
4. Comr. Olorunsola Samuel - Financial Secretary
REMARKS OF THE CHAIRMAN:
After the election of the key officers of the committee, the chairman called upon the members to put their personal interest aside and put the interest of the association first. He also described this forthcoming election as the election to rescue the ISU NATIONAL from its total jeopardy. The union is at the verge of disintergration. "This a very high time to work collectively in order to revive the good image of our dear sister ISU". He added.
