The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has raised alarm on the harassment of its members by security agencies working under the directive of the Federal Government.

This was disclosed to journalists at a rally in Asaba by the Zonal Leader, Delta Central, Perry Akujinwa, where he stressed that there are plans by security agencies to clampdown on its members and to label them kidnappers and robbers.

Also, it was alleged that since the struggle, many MASSOB members have been killed by security agencies in the country while others are detained in various prison custodies across the country.

The Zonal Leader also said that its members are agitating for the sovereign state of Biafra since inception, the movement is known for its non-violent stand.

He however further called on Igbos to ignore the recent statement of President Muhammadu Buhari on MASSOB describing them as faceless organization.

MASSOB according to Akujinwa is not true that the organization is a faceless movement as accredited to President Muhammadu Buhari but it is a fact that every Igbo man believes in the actualization of Biafra State that is spearheaded by the national leader, Chief Ralph Uwazurike.

Akujinwa urged the federal government to face those who are described as their real enemy and leave MASSOB alone to continue to agitate for their liberation.

He said “they should continue to face those attacking the government with weapons; we members of MASSOB don’t carry weapons but agitate for actualization of Biafra State”.

Akujinwa expressed hope that the group would not relent in the struggle because the organization’s independence is already at hand in no distance time.

What offence has the Igbos committed that made them to deserve this harassment from the government, Perry Akujinwa queried?
