Danbatta: 2017 Budget Submitted Ahead of Schedule.

The Executive Vice Chairman(EVC) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Professor Umar Danbatta revealed that the communication's commission 2017 budget has been submitted to the Senate for a velocious result and reply.

Professor Umar Danbatta made this revelation on Tuesday, in Abuja, when the Senate committee on Communications visited the commission to discuss the progress of the 2016 budget.

He briefed about the budget performance of the Commission, said that the Commission has always tracked it's budget to ensure that it achieves quick delivery.

Danbatta however said that the delay in 2016 budget approval has hindered the Commission from implementing it's projects, but promised to start as soon as the approval is communicated formally

While talking on the preregistered sim card issues, the EVC noted that the NCC will develop a regulatory directive on the registration to stop preregistered sims.

The EVC also noted that in the year 2016, NCC has received global recognition for its Efforts in the socio-economic development of the country, he assured that the Commission will continue with its efforts for the telecommunications sector to play it's role in growth of the country.

In his remarks, the Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Communication, Senator Adeola Solomon Olamilekan congratulated the NCC for the job well done so far in tackling certain issues affecting consumers.

He further asked the NCC to begin the projects from the 2016 budget as soon as possible, not withstanding and look towards working on 2017 budget.
