Rivers Re-run: Results Trickle In – Apc Sweeps Rivers South-east, Pdp Winning In Rivers East

SAN FRANCISCO, December 11, (THEWILL) – Results from the Rivers Election re-run show that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are winning in their strong holds.

Results from the South-East Senatorial district favour the APC.

In Khana/Gokana federal constituency in the district, Maurice Pronem of the APC polled 68,219 votes to defeat Dumnamene Dekor of the PDP who secured 20,329 votes.

In Tai/Oyigbo/Eleme federal constituency, Barry Mpigi of the APC garnered 48,760 votes to defeat Jacobson Nbina of the PDP rival who secured 11,737 votes.

In Khana state constituency 2, Friday Nkeeh of the APC got 15,000 votes and defeated Dinebari Loolo of the PDP who polled 4,000 votes.

The results also show that Magnus Abe, candidate of the APC for the senatorial seat is leading and is likely to return to the upper chamber of the national assembly.

However, in Rivers East Senatorial District, the results favour the PDP

In Okrika Ogu/Bolo Federal Constituency of the district, Gogo Tamuno PDP polled a total of 11,668 votes to defeat Maureen Tamuno of the APC who secured 5,995 votes.

Apart from the constituency, the PDP is also leading in the race for the Senatorial seat as George Sekibo of the PDP is leading Andrew Uchendu of the APC with nearly 50,000 votes.
