My Takeaways From Ondo Guber Polls

By Good Governance Advocates

We should be thanking God for election held on 26th November 2016 that did not lead to violence, loss of lives and properties. We have had the winner and the losers without shedding of blood. But there are consequences that might not be bearable for democracy.

This election has thrown more light to 2019 that if Buhari decides to go for 2nd term no one can stop him. The template they used in Ondo to conquer the 2 horses called JAGABAN and IROKO will resurface again in 2019. It has been tested and trusted. It was the same template the grandfather of corruption as tagged by NASS used against Atiku Abubakar in 2007. The latter was running from bar to bench while Yar'adua was campaigning from hamlets to cities. The rest was history.

The consequence of emergence of Aketi as Governor-Elect is not limited to political doom for Yoruba political elites. A northern candidate has won without their inputs except the New-Afonja in town; Fashola and Fayemi. The duo connived with the northern hegemony to install Aketi for the singular task ahead called 2019.

Ondo people!!! you got it wrong this time to have the trio of Aketi, a northern candidate, Eyitayo, a puppet from a Governor that fonds of owing workers salaries for months despite 13% derivation and Oke, another puppet from bourdillon as options. Ondo people, you are in for a long ride, as herdsmen are just starting with you.

To Jagaban of Borgu, sorry for this colossal loss, you cannot be in power forever. Your wings have been clamped and your input is gradually tending to zero in Southwest, APC and Nigeria at large. Your trainees have shown you pepper and you can't bite them unless you want to fall like pack of cards. However, you should rejoice a bit as your traitor, Iroko is biting his fingers. If Eyitayo had won, Iroko would have been like you in Yorubaland as a proxy governor whose reign continues after 8years in Government House.

Let me remind my readers, Jagaban has been in Alausa Government House since 1999 and it is only that God knows when he will be out of power in Lagos State. My advice to Jagaban is that he should brace up for more war. What happened in Ondo will repeat itself in Ekiti come 2018, if Jagaban and Fayose refuse to team up. Fayemi is battle ready and another Judas called Jimoh Ibrahim will soon emerge.

Now to Iroko, there were many Iroko trees have been beheaded by men and yours cannot be exempted politically. You have been axed by those who you thought they are learners. In politics nothing is impossible, you have been outsmarting Ondo people for long and now your time is off. From AD to PDP, LP and back to PDP. May be you are thinking of going to temple of justice for Eyitayo enthronement.

That can never be possible under this dispensation of Northern hegemony, they can't win at the poll and now lose it at the bench. The fear of DSS sting operation is the beginning of favourable judgement for APC by any Judges. Except Iroko moves to APC or join the proposed realignment, this Ondo 2016 Election might be his political rest in peace. This will serve as great lesson to others who always think they are the smartest.

Likewise to those elders crusading Yoruba nation, your strength has been trampled on like grasses. You cannot unite to install candidate that will serve your people and promote Yoruba nation. The Northern Oligarchy has proved again that they are your master in politics, therefore any realignment cannot thrive under the headship of General Muhammad Buhari. My advice for our elders is to call Fashola and Fayemi to order, nobody steps into Afonja's shoe without consequences. Jagaban is still licking his wound.

Finally, Aketi should know that Ondo people are having reservation on how the northern hegemony manipulated his way to Alagbaka. Therefore, he should choose between serving his people or his Abuja factors. It is only time that will tell.

Congrats to Aketi as announced by INEC.
