"I Do Not Just Want Made In Nigeria Products, I Want Made In Niger Products" Hajiya Yar’adua

According to Steve Harris, "It is what you don't have that limits you. It is what you have but do not to use". The Niger State Commissioner of Commerce, Industry and Investment, Hajiya Ramatu Mohammed Yar’adua has revealed that, her desire to patronise made in Niger products doubles that of patronising made in Nigeria products.

Yar’adua's position is as a result of the present reality of economic diversification and revival of home based industries championed by both the President Muhammadu Buhari's led administration and that of the amiable Governor of Niger State, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello which aside creating job opportunities, will also tremendously improve the State’s Internally Generated Revenue as well reduce Youth restiveness.

Her holistic approach and bona fide effort of patronising made in Niger Products stood ground when she hosted some Niger State based firms that are into shoes production, bags, school uniforms, security outfits, sports wears, beads-making to mention but a few at the Niger State Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment in Minna.

Accessing the quality of the products was done in company of the Niger State Director General of SMEs, Farouk Audi, Niger State DG Youth affairs, Alhaji Nma Kolo, the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary and other stakeholders.

The Commissioner observed that, for the economy to be salvaged and revamped, Nigerians and Nigerlites must rise to patronise "our home made products because that is the only way of economic stability and profitability" she stressed. And to concretise her ground after accessing the products, she took her time to name the shoes ; Investment shoe, Madam Governor, Lolo Shoe, SME etc. and most importantly bought a pair for 3,000 naira making it the second time after she had bought made-in-enagi morning fresh worth of 5,000 naira during the weekend.
