N40 Billion Scandal: Iwu's passport seized as FG orders investigation

The high level corruption orchestrated by ex INEC chairman, Maurice Iwu, while he held sway  has come under the scrutiny of security  and anti-graft agencies, as his  international passport may have been seized, while data on how he misappropriated over N40billion is being compiled.

Pointblanknews.com learnt that ex governors Bola tinubu, Victor Attah, Lucky Igbinedion, Saminu Turaki, and senator Sylvester Okonkwo are under fresh scrutiny over sundry graft allegations.

According to our source, Iwu has a lot of explanation to do concerning N20 Billion allocated for electronic voting machine in preparation for the 2007 polls.

Other shady contracts awarded by Iwu include N6 Billion supply of 23,000 units of Direct Data Capture (DDC),machines, to Trenko International Ltd; N1.4 Billion to Image Tech Ltd for supply 5,000 units; and another N1.4 Billion to International Security Systems for the supply of 5,000 units. Not one unit was delivered.

Pointblanknews.com sources also disclosed that Iwu fraudulently awarded a N4 Billion contract to Reltel Wireless  partly owned by Senator Sylvester Okonkwo. The contract was for the Global Leased Network Project.

Chams Nig. Ltd allegedly got N4 Billion from Iwu for voters cards which were never printed; N 280 million to Remichris Limited for supply of 40 Kw stabilizers; N33 million to Fabimay Limited, for 60 HP color printers; and N140 million to Africathay Dev. Limited for supply of 780 laptops.

Attah on his part , has case to answer in the  multi-billion naira Victor Attah Digital Opportunity Center, Igbinedion has a fresh case in a $10 million contracts, while Tinubu will explain his role in the Oracle Project.
