Jonathan picks Kaduna Gov., Sambo as Vice President

There were indications wednesday night that President Goodluck Jonathan, may have settled for Kaduna State Governor, Mohammed Namadi Sambo as his vice president.

Pointblanknews.com learnt that the president settled for Sambo when governors were unable to reach a decision on who he should pick

According to our source, the governors had found it difficult to agree on who to chose amongst three frontliners. They Deputy governor of Sokoto State, Muktar Shagari, Jigawa's Sule Lamido and and former Kaduna state Governor, Ahmed Markafi.

Others touted were Yayale Ahmed, Babangida Aliyu of Niger, Bauchi's Isa Yuguda, and Ibrahim Shema of Katsina

According to our source the northern senators had favored Makarfi.

Sambo who had been an underdog in the race for VP, sources said is a kind of consensus candidate.

As at press time calls to presidential spokesman, Ima Niboro were not answered.
